Every light on the map is a real person who has the site open right now. You can add your own light, and you will see a live count of how many people are awake with you. Some lights say Just here. Others say Open to talk, and those people are happy to say hello.
What you can do
- See the lights of people who are awake right now, from around the world.
- Tap an amber light and say hi, or press Talk to anyone awake to be matched with someone who is open to talk.
- Leave a short note of up to 140 characters. Notes are read before they appear, and they drift slowly across the sky.
- Share a picture of the sky with your count.
What it is not
youstillawake is not a dating site, and it is not for hookups. Chats are text only, anonymous and temporary. A chat ends when one of you leaves, when it has run for an hour, or when morning comes. Nothing from a chat is saved.
Who it is for
It is for adults who would like company for a little while in the small hours. You might be lonely, anxious, unable to sleep, or just curious what the world looks like at night. All of those are fine reasons to be here.
